Soccer or Football, Anyone???
Dear readers and friends, I promise many new blogs being planned as we speak and I will be publishing these in the weeks to come. But for now, it is time to talk about something else. Why? Well, because it is FIFA-season!
This is the first year that my family and I have missed the world cup, FIFA games. The energy in Brazil is breathtaking. I wish I was there! I admire the relentless supporters and the great players. One of the best world cup games ever. Surprisingly, England and Spain both out…Wow! So, what does this have to do with disruption and innovation? Hang on for a second…Read all the way through.
Go team USA! A record of approximately 50M people watched yesterday morning’s game against Germany. Wow…what a thrilling game! We now progress to the 16 roundup! Next Tuesday against Belgium will be a great game, but given USA’s performance against Germany and Portugal, I think there is a great chance we will progress.
Not only is this a great sport, but hugely relevant to disruption and innovation. Progress is greatly related to one’s BELIEF and TRUST that the impossible is possible.
USA has advanced in soccer (football) in a way no one ever imagined. It is playing the likes of Brazil, Germany, Portugal and many teams who have a number of world cup events under their belt.
What team USA is exhibiting is an absolute belief and drive to win. Disruption and innovation is about believing that the impossible is possible. In a huge way! Large enterprises can innovate at astronomical rates once the people in the company believe in the impossible. Anything is possible. More on this soon but I would like to start putting the moving parts together.
