The Buzz at TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin

As a disruptor, going to TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco (summer), Rome (September) and now at TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin has been a great experience to get a sense of the global tech disruption scene. Much to discuss, but the key takeaways are:

1. Entrepreneurism is very active in Germany, Uk, France, and throughout Europe. Ideas are abundant, energy off the charts and enthusiasm infective.

2. Seems that the US funding and VCs are esteemed to be unique, and the ecosystem of nurturing innovation is deemed to be unparalleled. Money is abundant in Europe, but the massive enabling accelerating ecosystem is absent. That is what makes Silicon Valley and San Francisco very unique!

So, why aren’t tech startups becoming giants at the rate of this US? It’s not because there is not knowledge, power, ability and tech power. But rather, because the enabling ecosystem is missing. Once the ecosystem is in place, sky is the limit. Today, I checked out startups from Turkey, Estonia, Lithuania, Germany, Scandinavia, Israel to just name a few. Hugely talented and inspiring tech disruptors!
